"Is it weird to love your doctor? Hope not, because I love mine--Nicole Price Swiner / Dr. Swiner's Medical Notes. It's so great to have a doctor who is intelligent and down to earth, tells you how it is, and has all the patience in the world!! If you are in the Durham area vist her, if not ( make the drive like I do) she is definitely worth it" .

Within 2 years from moving from Northern Virginia to North Carolina, in 1999, I developed significant allergies and have been treated with prescription medications and nasal sprays for the last 12 years. In the last five years, I developed a sinus infection at least twice a year and was treated with antibiotic prescriptions that occasionally included steroids. In 2008, I underwent septoplasty surgery to correct a seriously deviated septum. While the operation was a success and it cleared my nasal passages, I received little relief from the sinuses behind the nasal cavities. I agreed to testing and immune therapy late in December 2011 and was diagnosed with numerous airborne tree and grasses and mold allergies. While I have been in this therapy for only two months, I am cautiously optimistic that the long term results will be significant. I can already sense that my body is responding positively to this therapy in the time of the year when I would normally be experiencing another sinus infection. I am clearly appreciative of Dr. Swiner, the Allergy Clinic and Durham Family Medicine for recommending that I undergo allergy testing and follow on with immune therapy. Their efforts have definitely increased my quality of life in the short term and beyond.
